Learning about Maintenance Knowledge of Mining Explosion proof Motors
When repairing mining reducers, in some cases, the mining party will send the reducer together with the motor or oil station that matches the reducer for maintenance. Most of the motors used in these supporting equipment with motors or oil stations are explosion-proof motors. Therefore, in the maintenance of the reducer, the motor or oil station that matches it is generally required to be repaired by the mining party. Even if there is no clear requirement for repair, as the reducer maintenance party, a certain amount of inspection should be carried out on the supporting motor or oil station to determine its normal performance. The quality of the reducer supporting equipment usually directly affects the later operation status of the reducer and needs attention. If any unsuitable parts are found through inspection, the mining party should be contacted in a timely manner to communicate and handle them, and clarify responsibilities. So when repairing or inspecting the supporting equipment of these reducers, explosion-proof motors are an important part. Some of his maintenance knowledge also requires us to carefully master it, which has many benefits for the overall acceptance of the gearbox in the later stage and the improvement of its performance.

The following are some notes on explosion-proof motors in coal mines, which are more relevant to the inspection work of explosion-proof motors as accompanying equipment for reducers. Let's take a look together.
Firstly, check the explosion-proof electrical identification nameplates and safety identification nameplates for missing or damaged ones.
Secondly, the shell. Check the motor junction box and motor housing for cracks, open welds, deformations, and deformation lengths (50mm) and concave convex depths (5mm) that do not exceed the specified values. There should be no rust scale (over 0.2mm) peeling off inside and outside the shell, and the ground wire screws should not be corroded or painted.
Thirdly, the interface. The gap between the fixed end caps should be less than 0.3mm, the roughness of the explosion-proof joint surface should not exceed 6.3um, and there should be no rust. The joint surface needs to be coated with Vaseline or rust proof oil, and the amount should not be excessive.
Fourth: junction box. The fastening screws should be made of stainless steel or treated with rust prevention such as electroplating. The bolt strength requirement is 8.8 or above. There should be no missing screws or nuts on top, and no looseness or misalignment is allowed. The specifications of each screw and nut must be consistent, and the size and length of the outer side must be consistent. The size of the wrench used for each pair of screws and nuts must also be consistent. Each screw and nut must not have any slipping phenomenon. The extension length of each screw after pre tightening the through-hole connection is two turns of thread. When connecting with a non through-hole connection, the remaining axial length of the screw and screw hole after tightening should be greater than 1.5 times the thickness of the spring washer, and the depth of thread insertion should not be less than the diameter of the screw. The length of the countersunk screw penetrating into the screw hole should also be greater than the diameter of the screw. Each screw needs to have a spring washer underneath, not a flat washer, not two or more spring washers. The specifications of the spring washer should match the screw, and there should be no fracture or failure of the spring washer. The junction box cover cannot be installed upside down. The explosion-proof surface of the junction box must not have mechanical scratches. The explosion-proof surface cannot have paint.
