How can mechanical and industrial enterprises do a good job in maintaining and repairing gear reducers?
With the rapid development of the industrial and mechanical industries, gear reducers play an important role in an increasing number of industrial and mechanical equipment.

Mechanical and industrial enterprises are also paying increasing attention to the maintenance and repair of gear reducers. So, how to do a good job in the maintenance and repair of gear reducers?
Regardless of the working state of the gear reducer, it can be inspected daily through visual observation to check for any dripping or obvious damage, and to listen for any abnormal noise such as knocking or rubbing during operation.
For gear reducers with mild and moderate loads, it is recommended to perform a shutdown inspection every 6 months.
For gear reducers with heavy loads or working in harsh environments, it is recommended to perform a shutdown inspection every 3 months.
The inspection mainly includes:
1. Check the oil quality (color, transparency), oil quantity, and filter status of the lubricating oil, analyze and replace the lubricating oil;
2. Remove oil stains and debris from the parts and gearbox, clean the ventilation cap and oil stains;
3. Check the cracks, wear, and meshing of the gears, and repair or replace them in severe cases;
4. Check the status of bearings and bearing clearances, and carry out maintenance and adjustment;
Common faults and causes of gear reducers
The causes of abnormal noise in gear reducers include loose fasteners, damaged gear teeth, excessive bearing clearance, damaged bearings, poor alignment, and loose casing.
The reasons for the high working temperature of gear reducers include: high oil level inside the casing, severe oil pollution, mechanical failure of the oil pump, clogged oil filter of the cooling device, low or high coolant flow rate, and damaged bearings.
The reasons for the presence of water in the lubricating oil of gear reducers include: impurities in the oil, failure of the lubricating oil cooler or cooling coil, and condensation caused by the influence of cold air from ventilation.
