Introduction to reducer
1、 Definition: A reducer is a device located between the power source and the actuator, which is a power transmission mechanism that uses a gear speed converter to reduce the number of revolutions of the motor to the desired number and obtain a larger torque.
2、 Function:
Reduce speed: During the operation of the equipment, the motor can provide a higher speed, but different application scenarios and functional requirements require matching different speeds. Therefore, a reducer is needed to slow down the output speed of the motor.
Increasing torque: The decrease in speed results in an increase in torque, allowing the motor with a constant rated output power to cope with larger loads and resist greater resistance.
Increasing transmission accuracy: The reducer can improve the transmission accuracy of the motor, reduce transmission errors and return errors, and is suitable for occasions with high requirements for transmission accuracy.
Increasing load capacity: The deceleration motor increases the output torque through the reducer, enhancing the system's adaptability to loads and enabling it to withstand larger loads and impact loads.
3、 Classification of reducers: reducers can be divided into three categories based on their purpose and accuracy:
Universal reducers are widely used in various fields to meet basic power transmission needs;
Specialized reducers, mainly large and extra large, are mostly non-standard and industry-specific products, including marine gearboxes, metallurgical gearboxes, wind power gearboxes, engineering machinery gearboxes, etc;
Precision reducers with small return clearance and high transmission accuracy are commonly used in high-end fields such as robots and CNC machine tools, including precision planetary reducers, RV reducers, and harmonic reducers.
1、 Precision reducers mainly include: planetary RV、 harmonic drive
The planetary reducer is mainly composed of planetary gears, sun gears, and internal gear rings. It has a compact structure and high transmission efficiency, and is suitable for the body rotation joints with low precision requirements in robots;
RV reducer, with a wide range of reduction ratios and strong load-bearing capacity, has good rigidity and overload impact resistance, and is widely used in heavy-duty positions such as robot bases, arms, shoulders, etc;
Harmonic reducer, based on the elastic deformation principle of flexible wheels, is small in size, light in weight, and has high transmission accuracy. However, its load-bearing capacity is relatively weak, making it more suitable for industrial robot arms, wrists, hands, and other components in industries such as 3C, semiconductor, and medical equipment.
