In order to improve efficiency, NMRV worm gear reducers use non-ferrous metals for worm gears and harder steel for worm gears. Due to its sliding friction transmission, high heat is generated during operation, causing differences in thermal expansion between the various parts and seals of the reducer, resulting in gaps on the mating surfaces. The oil becomes thinner due to the increase in temperature, which can easily cause leakage. Damaged seals, ruptured casing, blocked ventilation holes, and high oil levels can all cause oil leakage in NMRV reducers.

The processing method is as follows:
Regarding seal damage
Replace seals: When a damaged seal is found causing oil leakage, a new seal should be replaced in a timely manner. Before replacing the seal, the reducer should be disassembled, and the oil and impurities on the installation site of the seal should be cleaned to ensure that the installation surface is flat and smooth. At the same time, it is necessary to choose substitute products with qualified quality and the same specifications as the original seals. For example, for common oil seals, attention should be paid to their size parameters such as inner diameter, outer diameter, and height, as well as performance indicators such as oil resistance and temperature resistance.
Check the condition of the shaft: While replacing the seal, carefully inspect the surface condition of the shaft. If the surface of the shaft has defects such as wear and scratches, it needs to be repaired or replaced. For minor wear, surface treatment methods such as chrome plating and spraying can be used to restore the dimensional accuracy and surface smoothness of the shaft; For severely worn shafts, it is recommended to replace them with new ones to ensure that the seals can function properly.
Regarding the rupture of the box body
Welding repair: For smaller cracks on the box, welding can be used for repair. Before welding, the lubricating oil inside the box should be cleaned thoroughly, and then the crack area should be polished and cleaned to remove impurities such as rust and oil stains. When welding, suitable welding rods and welding processes should be selected. For example, for cast iron boxes, cast iron welding rods can be used, and preheating and slow cooling measures can be taken to reduce welding stress and prevent cracking again.
Replacing the box: If the box is severely cracked, such as large areas of breakage or cracks that cannot be effectively repaired by welding, a new box needs to be replaced. When replacing the casing, it is important to ensure that the model and specifications of the casing match the other components of the gearbox, and to ensure installation accuracy during the installation process, such as coaxiality and parallelism between the casing and other components.
Regarding the blockage of ventilation holes
Cleaning the vent hole: When it is found that the vent hole is blocked and causing oil leakage, it is necessary to clean the vent hole in a timely manner. For ventilation holes blocked by dust and impurities, compressed air or fine wire tools can be used for cleaning. For ventilation holes blocked by oil stains, they can be soaked in a suitable solvent (such as kerosene) to dissolve the oil stains before cleaning. After cleaning, check if the ventilation holes are unobstructed, and consider installing a filter at the ventilation holes to prevent dust and impurities from entering again.
Improvement of ventilation device: In order to avoid frequent blockage of ventilation holes, the ventilation device can be improved. For example, replacing simple ventilation holes with ventilation valves can prevent dust and impurities from entering to a certain extent, while ensuring pressure balance between the internal and external of the gearbox.
Regarding the high oil level
Adjust oil level: If the oil level is found to be too high and causing oil leakage, the excess oil should be drained in a timely manner to restore the oil level to the normal range. Generally, there is an oil level observation window or oil level mark on the gearbox body, which can be used to adjust the oil level. During the oil discharge process, suitable tools such as oil pumps or drain plugs should be used, and attention should be paid to collecting the discharged oil properly to avoid polluting the environment.
