Gearbox malfunction caused by lubrication
Poor lubrication can cause noise and vibration in the metal, leading to environmental pollution
After the gearbox starts, if it emits a continuous and loud piercing sound, it may be due to foreign objects getting stuck, severe gear wear, or bearing damage; Sometimes, the gearbox experiences significant shaking, which may be due to bearing and gear wear or poor transmission configuration. In the above situations, it will cause a certain degree of environmental pollution, posing safety hazards on the production site and affecting the normal operation of the gearbox.
2. Excessive oil temperature and damage to gearbox components
During the operation of the gearbox, due to overload or insufficient lubricating oil, the oil temperature inside the gearbox will rapidly rise, resulting in damage to several components inside the gearbox; Some components have reduced the accuracy of the gearbox due to thermal expansion; Some parts experience a decrease in material strength due to high temperatures, causing damage to the parts and resulting in severe power consumption and operational failure of the gearbox. In this case, the transmission components may get stuck, resulting in uneven mechanical operation and other issues.
3. Oil leakage from the casing causes environmental pollution
The components containing oil in the gearbox have experienced oil leakage from the casing during operation due to loose screws or damaged sealing rings. Sometimes because the oil level is too high or foam is generated, the problem of oil leakage at the vent plug will also occur, which will pollute the environment.
4. Poor lubrication effect of gear pairs, resulting in problems such as tooth surface wear
The gearbox operates in harsh environments, and it is difficult to form a stable and good oil film between its meshing surfaces, resulting in problems such as pitting and wear on the surface, which can cause tooth surface failure and affect the normal operation of the gearbox.
Prevention and solutions for lubrication faults in gearboxes
1. Reasonably choose lubricating oil
Lubricating oil should be scientifically and reasonably selected based on the working load, friction form, and operating environment of the reducer. Because different types of lubricants have different lubrication properties. Specifically, as follows:
① For high-speed gearbox gears, the gear oil should have low viscosity and good fluidity.
② For low-speed moving gears, which are often heavy-duty gears, it is necessary to choose lubricating oil with good wear resistance while considering gear impact.
③ For reducers operating at low temperatures, to ensure effective gear operation, low pour point gear oil should be selected to ensure smooth flow of lubricating oil. And the condensation point of gear oil should be about 5 ℃ lower than the operating temperature. At the same time, special attention should be paid to the viscosity of the lubricating oil. If the viscosity is too low, a good oil film cannot be formed, which can easily cause the friction pair to be burned out.
2. Proper use of lubricating oil
Firstly, before adding lubricating oil, it is necessary to ensure that the oiler is clean and strictly avoid impurities in the oil tank. Then, the amount of lubricating oil should be configured appropriately. When operating, you can refer to the relevant instructions and compare the replenishment of lubricating oil to ensure the appropriate amount of oil. Finally, it is necessary to conduct irregular inspections of lubricating oil. For abnormal indicators in oil testing, the cause should be identified in a timely manner to take effective measures to prevent further contamination of the oil quality. Of course, it is necessary to replace the lubricating oil when necessary.
3. Ensure that the lubricating oil is in a stable and good environment
The root cause of problems with gearbox equipment is often contamination of the lubricating oil system, so it is necessary to ensure that the lubricating oil is in a stable and good environment, especially to avoid problems such as water leakage and oil leakage. At the same time, lubricating oil is easily contaminated by the external environment, so the lubricating oil system needs to be sealed and protected. Regular testing should be carried out, such as testing the sealing friction surface, to avoid small deformations or damages that may affect the stability of the oil film and prevent oil leakage problems in the gearbox. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check the lubricating oil system and clean the filtering device in the system to ensure its good performance. In addition, the lubricating oil system requires maintenance and upkeep, especially the replacement of components and troubleshooting, which are key to the normal operation of the system.
